The Brewery District is a 9 acre, master planned sustainable, intelligently conceived work/live/play community located in New Westminster, BC. The site is strategically located across from the Sapperton SkyTrain station and directly across from the Royal Columbian Hospital, a major regional hospital respected for it's fast-paced, leading edge environment specializing in; trauma, cardiology, neurosciences, pediatrics and high risk obstetrics.
Following extensive public consultation, Wesgroup has developed a multi-faceted, long-term plan for this historic site, which was a brewery for 125 years.
Key components of the project include:
- Retail, including 30,000 square foot Thrifty Foods grocery store, bank, pharmacy and selection of shops designed to meet day-to-day needs
- General and governmental offices
- Health services, including community health clinics, ambulatory care, administrative and educational functions
- Residences, including apartments, lofts and live/work space (500 – 750 units)
- Amenities, including daycare, parks, plazas and view decks
Our vision is to create a diverse, transit-oriented, urban community that responds to the needs of the current marketplace, while retaining the character of a complete neighbourhood. The Brewery District will also feature several eco-friendly initiatives, including an innovative alternate energy program.
